The Marching Band of Ave Maria Convent (AMC Band) is a secondary school band that strives for success. The objective of the school band is to develop the art of music and create a platform to train students to be more disciplined and cooperative. The band comprises 140 members inclusive of recruits. It has various sections include brass, woodwind, pit percussion, battery and colourguard. Today, it has succeeded in both indoor and outdoor performances. The band has taken part in abundant competition both locally and internationally and possesses an excellent achievement.

It was established in 1976 which is 35years ago, with only brass instruments. In 1986, with financial help from the school, the number of musical instruments has increased thus lending to an increase in the number of members. With the continuous help from the school, parents, friends, public, sponsers and well wishers, the quality of music has improved tremendously.
The band has had a good track record of excellent performances and achievements both at district, state and national and international level.
In 1999, the band was invited to attend the Millennium Countdown Band Concert and the Chiayi Band Festival Concert by the Taiwanese Government in conjuction with the Asia Pacific Band Directors' Conference in Chiayi, Taiwan R.O.C. It was the band's first ever overseas concert tour.
The band won 2nd place in the Perak Marching Band Competition (2000 & 2001). The band won 2nd place in the Perak Merdeka Parade in the year 2000 and took home the Champion Trophy in 2001.

The band won 1st runner up in the Perak Merdeka Parade in year 2000 and took home the Champion Trophy of Perak Marching Band Competition in 2001. AMC Band had their first concert in 2004 with the theme of 'Ensemble in Harmony'. They received a good response and sold out their ticket within a short period. In year 2006, the band was the champion of Perak State Marching Band Competition. They continued their journey in the national level

marching competition held at Kuantan. The band won 1st runner up in 2007 Perak State Marching Band Competition and 2nd runner up in the 2008 Perak State Marching Band Competition.

Besides, AMC Band had given a great oppurtunity 2008. They were invited to Beijing for a performance during the Beijing International Band Festival 2008. It was such an honorable invitation and AMC Band has successfully made the country, school and public pround of them. Since the glorious year of 2008, AMC Band has received allocations from the Cluster School Fund. As a result, they managed to upgrade their instruments for a better sound quality. AMC Band has followed on set-up Pit percussion and Colourguard in 2009.

In 2009, 2010, AMC Band respectively took part in some Concert Band Competition. It has participated Cluster School Wind Orchestra Competition and has been awarded a Gold Medal. AMC Band went overseas to take part in the Singapore International Band Compeition during Singapore International Band Festival (SIBF) in 2010. They came back with a Silver Medal. In 2011, AMC Band has participated in World Championship Marching Show Band Competition (WCMSB) organized by World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMSB). They were the 1st runner up for the Malaysia Premliminary round and managed to be a part in the Final Round. They received Gold Medal for the final round.
